After graduating from Okay
(Oklahoma) high school and The Oklahoma State University,
Spencer Farris worked in the recycling industry. Recycling
is a progressive industry, and one frequently sees visions
of the future in recycling. It was such a vision, not to
mention a pink slip and finding his belongings in the parking
lot that told him it was time to move from that industry
to another career.
So, utilizing one of the six options available to someone
with an English degree from an agriculture and mechanical
university, Spencer went to law school. Fate chuckled.
Some 12 years later, Spencer Farris joined the Levison
Group. As the only personal injury trial attorney in
the group, he brings a different perspective on the
law from his better heeled, corporate law companions.
His vocabulary is made up of the newest lingo, courtesy
of his two young sons, and country wisdom which is
completely out of place in his suburban surroundings.
Punctuation is random, as are complete sentences. Spencer views the law as a noble calling, and stands in
awe of the men and women of the bar who have made our country
great. And perhaps a bit perturbed at the one or
two dunderheads who have sullied the profession through
greed or stupidity. He is a board certified civil
trial advocate, and a bona fide trial
attorney, both of civil
and criminal cases. His columns are the thoughts of one
whose rose-colored glasses are beginning to fade to clear. His hobbies include fishing, diesel engine repair, motorcycling,
snipe hunting, and watching college football. He is a member
of the NRA and local chamber of commerce, a youth sports
coach, and helps with cub scout activities. Church and
secret society affiliations are available on request. Any
similarities to other persons, living or deceased, is completely
coincidental. And unfortunate. You may contact Spencer at farris@levisongroup.com. "I found your article both entertaining
and insightful.
I wish more lawyers could be so objective!"
